FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is the right time to undergo surgery?

Dr Oosthuizen will determine when surgery is the most appropriate next step by assessing your condition as well as your medical history. Surgery is usually the last line of treatment when all other treatments have failed.

What is minimally invasive surgery?

Minimally invasive surgery refers to surgical procedures that involve the use of tiny medical instruments and cameras. This equipment allows Dr Oosthuizen to see the area being operated on without the need for large incisions and allows for less scarring and shorter recovery time.

Is a fracture the same as a sprain?

No. A fracture is a broken bone, and a sprain occurs when you injure the ligaments that connect your bones.
