About Dr Beyers Oosthuizen
Dr Beyers Oosthuizen is an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in minimally invasive surgical treatment of conditions and injuries affecting the joints and related tissues.
Dr Oosthuizen studied medicine at the University of Pretoria, where he finished top of his class in 2005. He then started his orthopaedic career at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in 2007, where he was a Medical Officer and later a Registrar in orthopaedic surgery.
Dr Oosthuizen finished his orthopaedic studies in 2013, yet again top of his class. From 2014 to 2015, he went on to become a consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Steve Biko Academic Hospital.
He was also a Senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria that same year. During his time in the academic setting, Dr Oosthuizen began to exclusively perform joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery.
He then started his part-time private practice and moved to full-time private practice in 2015, working at Mediclinic Midstream Hospital. Dr Oosthuizen offers comprehensive care for a range of degenerative conditions and trauma injuries but has a niche in knee surgeries such as knee arthroscopy, knee ligament surgery, meniscus surgery and total and partial knee replacement surgery.
